From Our House…

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.  And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” (Luke 2:6-13 KJV)

Merry Christmas, dear friend!

From The Beginning

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28

From the beginning, God had a plan. With that plan, He created our world. But, He didn’t stop with the things visible to us.

He had–has a plan for us, too. Isn’t that amazing!

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Genesis 1:29

Throughout the Bible, we read of His plan. Repentance. Salvation. Adoption. Abundance. Purpose.

Sounds like the beginnings of an exciting adventure, doesn’t it? Yet, when we read about characters like Paul and all that he endured we may wonder if the effort to fulfill our purpose is worth the pain.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. Genesis 1:30

No one ever said it would be easy. At times, we will scale the mountain of heartache, traverse the valley of set backs, sail the dark waters of indecision, and wander the barren lands of loss.

But take courage, my friend. Do not let fear or discouragement keep you from fulfilling your purpose. Together with God, we can do this.

How can I be sure?

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31

Because from the beginning, God had a plan!
