He’s Been Faithful

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:23

In every season, there is a lesson to be learned. One of the hardest lessons is realizing we are not in control. Nothing makes that more glaringly obvious than death and disease. When these storms come, the ground beneath us will never be the same. We are forever altered. And yet—

Through all of it, there is one truth that remains. God does not change. He is faithful.

It is at His feet we find rest from our troubles, a balm for the pain, and strength for the next mile.

What season are you facing at this time? What lesson are you learning?

Songs of Deliverance

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Psalm 32:7

art-1296299_1280While discussing this morning’s post, my daughter asked why I didn’t post more videos. Honestly, I didn’t have an immediate answer. With music being such an essential part of my being, you’d think I would have more on this blog—a place that is supposed to reflect who I am, right? But, I hesitate on videos because of time and others may not like music as much as I do.

I awake with music in my head. When I’m sad, music consoles my pain. When I’m happy, the tempo quickens my step. Music is a healing balm to my soul. It’s how I get my praise on! And it amazes me when I am in need of “something” the right song comes along. Isn’t that just like our wonderful Savior?

David was a musician. His music soothed Saul’s troubled spirit. While David ran for his life, a song often drifted through the avenues of his soul as he sought for ways to put his needs into words. The melody was a prayer from his lips to the Lord, and the words were an answer from the Lord to David’s heart.

The Bible tells us to make a joyful noise, sing and clap our hands. What a wonderful way to start a day—after a cuppa coffee. 🙂

After much deliberation, I decided, my daughter’s idea is a good one. Truly, the Lord has surrounded me with songs of deliverance. And maybe, just maybe, the songs I post will be what someone needs that day.

Happy listening!
