Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Psalm 32:7
While discussing this morning’s post, my daughter asked why I didn’t post more videos. Honestly, I didn’t have an immediate answer. With music being such an essential part of my being, you’d think I would have more on this blog—a place that is supposed to reflect who I am, right? But, I hesitate on videos because of time and others may not like music as much as I do.
I awake with music in my head. When I’m sad, music consoles my pain. When I’m happy, the tempo quickens my step. Music is a healing balm to my soul. It’s how I get my praise on! And it amazes me when I am in need of “something” the right song comes along. Isn’t that just like our wonderful Savior?
David was a musician. His music soothed Saul’s troubled spirit. While David ran for his life, a song often drifted through the avenues of his soul as he sought for ways to put his needs into words. The melody was a prayer from his lips to the Lord, and the words were an answer from the Lord to David’s heart.
The Bible tells us to make a joyful noise, sing and clap our hands. What a wonderful way to start a day—after a cuppa coffee. 🙂
After much deliberation, I decided, my daughter’s idea is a good one. Truly, the Lord has surrounded me with songs of deliverance. And maybe, just maybe, the songs I post will be what someone needs that day.
Happy listening!
