Good morning, friend! How is your spring/summer so far? Mine has been productive. Woo hoo! I’ve enjoyed several books. Loving this balmy weather we’re having.
I wanted to share the hymn I’ve been hearing in my head this week. 😊 Have you heard it? I’ll leave a link below. Give it a listen! And a read!
I don’t know about you, but reading the Lord’s promise of salvation fills my heart with joy! I hope the scriptures I’ve shared give you the “joy jolt” you need for the coming week.
(A sample of hymnals I have collected while plundering the book section in antique stores. Yes, it’s a disease. I have to rescue them.)
Glory to His Name
Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (1 John 1:7).
Glory to His name,
Glory to His name;
There to my heart was the blood applied
Glory to His name.
I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where He took me in;
Glory to His name.
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God (1 Peter 18-21).
O precious fountain that saves from sin,
I am so glad I have entered in;
There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean,
Glory to His name.
In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness (Zechariah 13:1).
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by who also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:1).
Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,
Cast thy poor soul at the Saviour’s feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to His name.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
